Sustainable Furnishings Council

The Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) is a non-profit coalition of suppliers, manufactures, retailers, and designers committed to establishing and promoting industry standards for sustainability. The SFC is especially concerned with matters related to emissions, deforestation, and renewable resource usage, as well as increasing consumer awareness of sustainable products available in the home furnishings industry.

At Eagle Industries, we are proud to be a part of the SFC and we are working toward more sustainable and environmentally-friendly operating practices. Listed below are some ways we are reducing our impact on the environment.

  • Water-based stains and sealants are used on all Eagle furniture.
  • Recyclable packaging materials are used for shipping.
  • Product packaging and office paper is recycled.
  • Energy usage has been reduced.
  • A product reclamation/reuse policy is in effect.
  • Reduce raw material waste.
  • Lumber is purchased from sustainable sources.

In addition, we are proud to introduce Bear River, our first-ever collection made from a unique eco-friendly composite material. This material is manufactured from wheat straw and recycled HDPE plastic, making it among the “greenest” materials available.

Through our involvement with organizations such as the Sustainable Furnishings Council, we are striving to expand our recognition as one of the few remaining domestic, “Eco-Friendly” furniture manufacturers.
